Vocabulary: Common jobs

In this lesson, we are going to learn the words of common jobs. There are 10 words in this lesson.

An architect /ˈɑːkɪtekt/: kiến trúc sư
a person whose job is designing buildings
– She’s a London-based architect and interior designer.
– In 1721 he was named chief architect of the cathedral.

A singer /ˈsɪŋə(r)/: ca sĩ
a person who sings, or whose job is singing, especially in public
– She’s a wonderful singer.
– a pop/country/folk singer
– He trained as an opera singer.

A doctor /ˈdɒktə(r)/: bác sĩ
a person who has been trained in medical science, whose job is to treat people who are ill or injured
The doctor told me to stay in bed.
My father is a doctor.

A model /ˈmɒdl/: người mẫu
a person whose job is to wear and show new styles of clothes and be photographed wearing them
She had a successful career as a fashion model.

A taxi driver /ˈtæksi draɪvə(r)/: tài xế taxi
a person whose job is driving a car and takes people from one place to another.
He loves his job as a taxi driver because he meets a lot of people every day.

A pilot /ˈpaɪlət/: phi công
a person who operates the controls of an aircraft, especially as a job

– The accident was caused by pilot error.

An actor /ˈæktə(r)/,  an actress /ˈæktrəs/ : nam diễn viên, nữ diễn viên
a person who performs on the stage, on television, or in films, especially as a profession

A teacher /ˈtiːtʃə(r)/: giáo viên
a person whose job is teaching, especially in a school
– an English/a science teacher
– primary/elementary school teachers.

A police officer /pəˈliːs ɒfɪsə(r)/: nhân viên cảnh sát
a member of the police

A soccer player /ˈsɒkə(r) ˈpleɪə(r)/ = football player : cầu thủ bóng đã
A soccer player is a person who plays soccer, especially as a profession.
