The Future Simple tense is used to talk about actions that will happen in the future. Here’s how to form and use it:
✅ 1. Formation (Structure) of future simple tense
Affirmative sentence:
Subject + will + base verb
- I will go.
- She will study.
- They’ll go to Vung Tau tomorrow.
- He’ll come here soon.
Note:
I will = I’ll
You will = You’ll
We will = We’ll
They will = They’ll
He will = He’ll
She will = She’ll
It will = It’ll
Negative:
Subject + will not (won’t) + base verb
- I will not go.
- He won’t come.
Question:
Will + subject + base verb?
- Will you come?
- Will they win?
✅ 2. Uses of Future Simple
Use the Future Simple when:
1. Decisions made at the time of speaking
- I’m tired. I will go to bed now.
2. Predictions (no evidence)
- I think it will rain tomorrow.
3. Promises / offers / threats
- I will help you with your homework. (offer)
- I won’t tell anyone. (promise)
4. Future facts or certainty
- The sun will rise at 6 a.m.
✅ 3. Common Time Expressions
- tomorrow
- next week / year
- soon
- in a few minutes
- later
Example: She will arrive tomorrow.
